Hi everyone! Today's topic is a little bit different. I've focused mostly on VR-related 3D content until this post, but part of my passion stems from a love of 3D games that's endured since I was a child, so I think talking about games is relevant too. I'll share my review of WEBFISHING, a game I've been obsessed with lately! As always, this review is not sponsored. So without further adieu...
Let's go WEBFISHING!
The core gameplay loop (the main activity of a game) is straightforward. Go fishing, sell what you catch, buy upgrades to your fishing rod to get bigger fish that sell for more, and so on. I'm very much a casual gamer, so I play a lot of games in this umbrella genre ('Harvest Moon'-likes is what they're affectionately called, named after the Harvest Moon franchise created by Victor Interactive Software before being acquired by Marvelous Entertainment - and then eventually the copyright for the name being retained by the English distributor, Natsume Inc. A typical 'Harvest Moon'-like has farming, fishing, romance-able characters, and a town full of NPCs.) I wouldn't quite call this a Moon-like. If you've ever played an Animal Crossing game (I'm thinking specifically of New Horizons), it's as if they removed a good chunk of content but kept the fishing and cosmetics. For $4.99 right now on Steam, I think it's very much worth the price.
It's a chatroom-based game with a lot of fun little features. A secret area, guitars that you can pick manual chords on to make music, fun blurbs for every type of fish you catch, and more. For safety features, you can toggle whether or not a lobby is 18+ - meaning anyone who joins sees a prompt warning them that the lobby is 18+ only. The target audience for this game is adults, not children. One of the blurbs contains a swear, alcohol is available from the vending machines (drinking affects your gameplay, making your character walk in random directions), and turning off 18+ on a lobby does not censor any of these things. Gameplay-wise, I love it. There's no upkeep, no drawn-out tutorials, and no engagement mechanic to force you to play every day. You can hop on, catch some fish, log off, and your progress will be saved. Even playing solo is enjoyable to me. If you feel especially lazy, you can buy helpers known as Fishing Buddies who catch fish for you. You get one Fishing Buddy for saltwater, and one Fishing Buddy for freshwater. Their catch rate and fish quality can be upgraded to make them more efficient.Overall, this game hits me right in my 'cozy game' heart. I play it while I'm winding down from work. That's all from me today!
See ya next time!

I popped onto a server and immediately made friends by slamming a giant png of an alligator into everyone I walked past.
Webfishing was robbed for GotY
